What is this?
Greater Dallas Bicyclists will be hosting a ride on Labor Day September 4th, 2023. With the insufferable summer heat in the DFW area, we will call this the Easy Bake Oven ride. The ride will start from Trinity Groves at 7:30 AM sharp. Parking is available at the gravel parking lot at 3030 Gulden Lane just north of Singleton Blvd.
The route of about 40 miles will take us south and west by Mountain Creek Lake, and then north to the South Campion Trail and the Trinity Skyline Trail on the way back into Dallas. There are some hills for the first 12 miles of the ride along with some nice descents. There will be at least two stops on the ride and more as the weather may dictate.
We will stop as a group for any mechanicals or other issues. The average pace at the end of the ride will be 13-15 MPH with speeds faster on flats and slower on hills. Please ensure your bike is in good working condition, bring liquids and electrolytes, and dress for the weather.
There is an optional lunch afterwards at Beto & Son restaurant in Trinity Groves.
